Charles Lloyd Messamer, born March 13, 1928 in a farm house in Dallas County, IA, died February 25, 2018 in Avon, Indiana. He was the son of TR and Beulah (Zellers) Messamer.
As a young man, he was active in the church of the Brethen. He spent two years working on a church project in Puerto Rico, also making a trip as a sea going cowboy delivering livestock to war torn countries for relief purposes.
Chuck spent most of his adult life working for the New York Central Railroad and its successor company, retiring early from the railroad due to an accident resulting in the loss of his arm. After retirement, he spent several years in the residential rental business.
He is survived by his daughters, Jessica (Terry) Brown and Jesslyn (Matt) Saylor; granddaughter, Misty Holmes Liscomb; and 2 great granddaughters, Haylie Holmes and Nevaeh Liscomb.
No services will be held at this time.
